Saturn is a giant, beautiful planet famous for its wide rings. It is much bigger than Earth and looks stunning through a telescope.

Weather and air

Saturn is mostly made of hydrogen and helium and does not have air you can breathe. It has strong winds and very cold temperatures.

Saturn’s rings are made of ice and rock and are very wide but very thin.
If there were a bathtub big enough, Saturn would float because it is less dense than water.
Saturn is the second-largest planet in our solar system after Jupiter.
Winds on Saturn can blow faster than a jet airplane, reaching over 1,800 km/h.
Saturn has colorful bands and giant storms that circle the planet.
The Cassini spacecraft explored Saturn for many years and sent back amazing pictures.
