Jupiter
Jupiter is the biggest planet in our Solar System. It’s a huge, colorful gas ball with a famous Great Red Spot.
Weather and air
Jupiter is made mostly of gases like hydrogen and helium, so there is no solid ground to stand on. It has violent storms and very strong winds that roar around the planet.
A few interesting things
- Has a Great Red Spot — a gigantic storm bigger than Earth.
- So big that all the other planets could fit inside it.
- Made mostly of hydrogen and helium, like a small star but not hot enough to shine.
- Shows colorful bands caused by fast winds and different clouds.
- Has a very strong magnetic field that traps charged particles.
- Some moons, like Europa and Io, are exciting worlds with ice, volcanoes, or possible oceans.
Moons
Jupiter has 95 moons. Here are three of the moons.
